Florida

Florida

Florida - well where do I start! There is so much to see and do in the US State of Florida from the theme parks, to beaches, to Space Centres and much more. Without going into too much detail and writing an essay, this will give you a brief idea of what you can see and do whilst visiting Florida. Theme Parks - Disney has 4 Main Theme Parks and 2 Water Parks.  The four theme parks are Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Animal Kingdom and Hollywood Studios. The two Water parks are Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach. Also, not forgetting Disney Downtown and Boardwalk which are great places for entertainment, shopping and plenty of unique dining experiences. All of the parks are linked with the Walt Disney World transportation system - monorails, water launches, and motor coaches which enables you to travel to any park throughout the day.  The 7, 14 and 21 day ultimate passes include the transportation so there is no extra expense. Other parks that are definitely worth visiting are Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure which take you behind the scenes, beyond the screen and into the action of your favourite movies.  Islands of Adventure now features the Wizarding World of Harry Potter.  They also have the famous Citywalk where you can party the night away, shop to your hearts contact and eat in an array of restaurants. SeaWorld, its waterpark Aquatica and Discovery Cove are not to be missed, shows with Dancing Dolphins, Killer Whales and many more will amaze you but beware - don't sit too close to the front as you will get wet!  Discovery Cove is the place where you can snorkel with the Rays or Swim with the Dolphins which is an experience in itself. Other places that need to be mentioned are Busch Gardens in Tampa (approximately 1 hour away from Orlando). This Park is the not for the feint hearted as the rides will flip you, rotate you, turn you upside down and soak you with water.  The adrenaline rush is amazing but also there are rides for the little ones too. Kennedy Space Centre is one to go to should you want a more relaxed trip out, visit the Rocket Garden with the actual Mercury, Gemini and Apollo rockets, the exciting new Space Shuttle Atlantis attraction with more than 60 displays and hands-on simulators, along with Shuttle Launch Experience where you can “Go for Launch”, 3D IMAX theatres and much more. Finally not forgetting the Everglades and the many beautiful Gardens and beaches around the State where you can relax and enjoy the wonderful array of flowers, trees and wildlife that Florida has to offer.  You can also go on an airboat ride around the Everglades in the hunt for Alligators!  The Keys and all the coastlines have fabulous beaches if you wanted to chill for the day and have a dip in the blue sea. I hope this has given you a good insight of what to see and do in Florida.
