Hi, I’m Clare and I live in Bathgate, which is roughly halfway between Edinburgh and Glasgow, with my husband and our two house rabbits.
I joined the travel industry straight out of high school and spent five years working as a travel agent and holiday representative before deciding to pursue a career in the financial industry. After 18 years, I was made redundant and immediately knew I wanted to return to the travel industry.
Whilst this might seem strange for someone who worked in travel, I developed a major fear of flying and didn’t fly anywhere for a very long time. Before that, I had travelled to Turkey, where I worked as a holiday representative, as well as Mexico, the Dominican Republic, Rhodes, Cyprus, Tenerife, Ibiza and Kenya.
Since the pandemic, I felt the need to spread my wings and see more of the world. I’ve since travelled to Madrid, Sweden, the Algarve, Kenya twice and Crete. Overcoming my fear of flying was a big deal for me, and I know much it can hold you back. However, the desire to travel again eventually became too strong and, through a variety of coping mechanisms, I’ve found a way to get back on a plane.
In place of flying, I took up wildlife photography and began exploring more of Scotland. I spend a lot of time on Mull and in the Highlands, where I run wildlife photography workshops teaching people how to find and photograph our beautiful wildlife. Orkney is another firm favourite, and I’ve been incredibly lucky to see orcas there twice — something I never would have expected to experience on home turf.
I’m also neurodivergent and understand how overwhelming planning a trip can sometimes feel, and I know that the perfect holiday can look different for everyone. I’m here to offer a thoughtful, personal service and to make the process as smooth and enjoyable as possible, from the initial idea through to your return home.
When I left the financial industry, I knew I wanted to return to a career where I could combine my love of travel with the opportunity to create truly memorable experiences for others. I’m particularly drawn to wildlife-based travel and would love to help you plan a tailor-made journey to experience some of the world’s most extraordinary wildlife — perhaps even ticking off a bucket-list species along the way. Mine is wild dogs in Africa!
Whether you’re dreaming of a beautifully planned escape closer to home or a once-in-a-lifetime adventure across the world, I’m excited to take the time to understand what matters most to you and create a journey that feels entirely your own.
