Multi Centre holiday to China including Yangtze River Cruise and hotel stays in Beijing and Shanghai including many excursions. Visits to Terra Cotta Warriors and the Great Wall of China – holiday taken during month of April.   Hi Simon, This one, we were more than happy with the content and organisation of the Viking China experience. First up, I would confirm the advice I was given that the better option is to do the journey from Beijing to Shanghai and not the advertised version.  The reason is that the first part from Beijing is very active in terms of early starts, longer days and physical exercise.  The second part, from the river cruise on to finish in Shanghai, much more relaxed. Party numbers 20 - 25, same group travels together with same courier for duration.  Riverboat is where 7 to 8 of these groups come together.  Viking Emerald, very comfortable, food excellent.  If your clients like to have drinks of their choice at any time of day or night, I recommend taking the Silver Drinks package as value for money.  If you are a moderate drinker, not worth bothering about as beers and wines are offered with meals on board. Hotel quality good 4*+.  Excursions included and interesting.  Inevitable jade workshops, silk workshops, jewellery workshops etc, but some are interesting and no pressure to buy.  Very good and reasonable tailor on board Viking Emerald, both Barbara and Debbie had silk evening jackets made in 24 hours for about £60. Wonderful and unexpected was Viking's organisation of luggage transfers.  From picking up at Beijing on arrival to check-in at Shanghai departure, we never lifted a suitcase despite 3 internal flights!  Viking procedure was for colour coded suitcases to be left in room or outside, Viking transported them and had a team at each arrival airport to collect them from carousel. Client looked them over to ensure safe arrival and walked away leaving them with Viking team and they magically appeared in our next hotel bedroom.  Organisation superb! Internal flights by China South or China West on new Airbus A320 aircraft comfortable. Overall, excellent value for money and we had no negative comments.  Feel free to share.
