Having just had the opportunity to visit this amazing hotel, I had to write about this beautiful place. A converted 15th Century Monastery, the San Michele has kept a lot of the traditional architecture some of which is attributed to Michelangelo and has made a wonderful job of converting it into a Luxury Hotel with amazing views over looking Florence. It features 46 Bedrooms, 2 fine restaurants, pool, gym, piano bar, pool bar and cloister bar, cookery school, complimentary shuttle to Florence and a small kids club for 3-12 year old's. The rooms are beautifully furnished with the attention to detail you would expect in a 5 star hotel including a personalised embroidered pillow case with your initials, bathrobe and slippers, all the essentials you need and beautiful marble bathrooms with both 110v and 240v plug sockets. The classic, superior and deluxe rooms are situated in the main building with a few interconnecting.  The 2 main suites (Donatello and Michelangelo) are also in the main building which are very spacious and luxurious. In the Gardens, there are the Executive, Superior and Deluxe Junior Suites that have amazing views overlooking the City (many of these interconnect).   Also, the Limonaia Suite and Villa is located in the former orangery which has a plunge pool and all 3 rooms can be booked separately or connected and be booked for a large family up to 12. The food was exceptional and the cookery school taster session was fun for my children. The views and Italian gardens make this hotel even more special overlooking Florence and walking through the scented gardens. Florence is a must see and with the complimentary shuttle, there is no excuse to explore the city, visit the Palazzo Vecchio, Ponte Vecchio and much more as well as sampling the fantastic Tuscan cuisine in the many restaurants.
