Mauritius
Mauritius
Mauritius is referred to as The Star of the Indian Ocean situated 12 hours flying time from the UK and 4 hours ahead of us. Mauritius is a haven of crystal clear turquoise water and white sand surrounded by a coral reef which protects the island from rough seas. It has a mild tropical climate and the time to avoid visiting is January and February as it is prone to cyclones in those months. The landscape is so varied with rugged volcanoes, gushing waterfalls and lush vegetation .
There is so much to see and do in Mauritius from shopping to visiting historical sites and temples, eating out in some fabulous restaurants to revelling in the warm waters of the ocean trying the many water sports on offer.
Mauritius is perfect for anyone although is particularly suited to couples and honeymooners . It has some of the best hotels in the world but also has different hotels to suit all budgets and tastes.
I have been lucky enough to visit Mauritius with work and also to have my own holiday here and I have to say it was one of my most memorable holidays. I was absorbed by the breathtaking scenery, stunning white beaches and the fantastic cuisine which Mauritius is renowned for.
