Set just steps from the beach on Corsica’s wild eastern coast, Villa Ucalitu is a striking Mediterranean-modern retreat designed to blend seamlessly with its natural setting. Originally a guard’s residence, the villa has been thoughtfully reimagined by French architect Vincent Leprince, its clean, bleached lines artfully built around soaring eucalyptus, leaning palms and coastal pines. The result is a calm, design-led escape where indoor and outdoor living flow effortlessly.

Arranged over two floors, the villa sleeps six guests across three en suite double bedrooms. On the ground floor, each bedroom opens directly onto the garden, creating a sense of privacy and connection to the surrounding greenery. Upstairs, a spacious open-plan living area features a fully equipped modern kitchen, dining space and comfortable lounge, all opening onto terraces that frame either shimmering Mediterranean views or Corsica’s dramatic mountainous landscapes.

The interiors combine contemporary furnishings with antique pieces, colourful rugs and striking artwork, including works by Corsican artists. Natural textures such as rattan, cane and warm wood lend a relaxed, inviting feel.

Outside, the villa centres around a sleek swimming pool with sun loungers and shaded terraces for al fresco dining, complete with barbecue. With direct beach access just 50 metres away and Bastia within easy reach, Villa Ucalitu offers both seclusion and a superb base for exploring Corsica’s beautifully untamed coastline.
