A rare combination of stylish comfort and barefoot-casual tempo, this remarkable resort was, quite literally, built on the ethos of harmony with the landscape and its resources. Using locally sourced wood and wicker, rock and cork in the hotel’s buildings and furnishings, its décor and colour palette reflect the serenity of its natural surroundings, while creating a chic contemporary look, supported by superb resort facilities. The pampering Finisterra Spa complements tennis and paddle tennis courts, a football pitch and fitness room, mountain bikes and water sports. An indoor/outdoor pool is one of five swimming pools, and a toddlers’ pool joins a crèche and Kids’ Club fun for children. A gourmet restaurant within the hotel contrasts with a lively bistro and informal, all-day service at the Beach Club restaurant. 
The Pinewood Houses at Martinhal Beach Resort & Hotel number just 10 and are positioned in their own separate close. Arranged along the edge of a pine forest, these linked villas enjoy a select location but remain within easy access of the main resort facilities. Contemporary in appearance, the use of clean forms and lines underline a stylish simplicity that is also adopted inside. Interior décor is sophisticated yet functional. It’s unhurried and imaginative. Each house has its own small, private swimming pool that enhances a garden planted with wild, indigenous flora. Pinewood Houses appeal to families who appreciate a degree of seclusion but still like to be near the resort’s leisure and entertainment attractions.
