The setting is superb for this honeymoon hideaway. Nestled into grassy gardens in the gorgeous hills of southern Tuscany, the villa combines all the peace of the countryside with easy access to Cetona, its narrow streets and busy piazza about five hundred metres away. After imaginative restoration, inside and out, the villa has a rustic-chic feel, from its terracotta tiled floors to its cheerful rugs and fabrics and whitewashed beamed ceilings. With a double bedroom on the upper floor, the compact ground floor sitting room has double doors to a shaded al fresco dining terrace, the small kitchen opens out to a vegetable garden, and a study in the inner hallway leads into the dining area.

There is satellite tv and WiFi in the house and, in the garden, a power point in the Ottoman style pergola, the ideal spot for lounging and listening to music. Set in a tree-lined terrace, a traditional Tuscan fountain has been transformed into a private plunge pool, perfectly proportioned for two and complete with hydro-massage. La Torretta is adjacent to sister-villa La Torre, and the two could be booked together for groups of family or friends.
