With gorgeous rural views, which get better with each flight of stairs, La Torre looks down over grassy slopes and terraces, sprinkled with trees and forming a cushion of peaceful privacy. A long flight of stone steps lead down from the villa to a lovely pool and poolside pergola, set amid lawns and screened in greenery for a sense of seclusion. But in fact, the tower house is just five hundred metres from shops, bars and trattorie in Cetona’s cobbled streets, its vine-shaded terrace furnished for al fresco dining, with the medieval Citta della Pieve framed in an enchanting backdrop. From the terrace, doors lead in to a country kitchen and delightful living room, designed with arty rusticity and bright with kilims, cushions and pictures. The Tower is on 4 levels, and there is one spacious bedroom on each of the floors above, all furnished with a touch of romance and a few iconic pieces for the design connoisseurs. The recent renovation has ensured that the property is even more comfortable and attractive - with the help of two architects, the owner has added new elegant bathrooms, closet space, a library room, a new entrance and a stone staircase. Ideal for a group of friends or for families with older children, La Torre could be booked together with an adjacent property, La Torretta, to accommodate additional guests in a fully self-contained villa for two.
