Where Health and Wellness meets Sustainability in Corfu!
Myself and Colin recently stayed at the Angsana Spa Resort in Corfu, which was an unforgettable experience, made even more special by the resort’s commitment to sustainability. From the moment I arrived, I felt at home and enveloped in the island's natural beauty, and it was clear that the resort values preserving this pristine environment.
The hospitality was exceptional, with the staff greeting us warmly and making us feel at home. Our room was a tranquil oasis, thoughtfully designed with modern comforts and eco-friendly touches. The private balcony offered stunning views of the Ionian Sea over the huge infinity pool, and waking up to the sound of quiet was a daily delight.
A standout feature of our stay was the Angsana Spa, which focuses on holistic wellness using natural ingredients. We indulged in the signature Angsana Massage, and knowing that the herbs and oils used were sourced from the resort’s garden added a special touch. Each treatment left us feeling relaxed, rejuvenated and more connected to the natural world.
We were both quick to rebook our next treatment, with the Thai massage-trained specialists!
Dining at the resort was a highlight, thanks to their emphasis on using locally-grown produce and working with local suppliers.
The main restaurant served a delicious Mediterranean and international cuisine blend, with fresh, seasonal ingredients taking centre stage. One evening, we enjoyed a romantic dinner on the verandah, with glorious views, featuring dishes prepared with herbs from the resort’s garden – an unforgettable experience.
Exploring the area around the resort, we visited the nearby village Benitses, only a relaxing 15-minute stroll away, mixing with lovely locals and wonderful authentic Greek Souvlaki.
We hired a small car (for the narrow roads) and drove to Corfu Town, where we wandered through the charming streets of Corfu’s Old Town, a UNESCO World Heritage site. I may also have contributed to the community at the lovely boutique shops! (also a very sustainable practice).
It was an unforgettable adventure as we journeyed in our hired Mini Convertible across the magnificent island of Corfu, through beautiful little villages and stunning countryside, and to the breathtaking Paleokastritsa and its magnificent Monastery with sublime views.
These little excursions offered a deeper appreciation of the island’s rich culture and history.
For those seeking adventure, the resort offers various activities, including water sports and hiking, allowing guests to sustainably connect with Corfu’s natural beauty. We particularly enjoyed the hiking trails, which were exhilarating and emphasised the importance of preserving the local environment.
Families are well-catered for, with a dedicated kids' club, The Rangers Club, which offers fun and educational activities focused on nature and sustainability.
In every way, Angsana Spa Resort Corfu exceeded my expectations. Everything from the lovely, friendly and informative staff It’s more than just a place to stay; it’s a sanctuary where you can relax, rejuvenate, and feel good about your environmental impact. We left feeling refreshed, with a tear in our eyes feeling inspired, and already planning our next visit.
Angsana Spa Resort Corfu is the perfect destination if you’re looking for a luxurious, sustainable escape.
