Lake Como Walking and Wine Tour

We arrived at the beautiful Grand Imperiale hotel at Lake Como and the location is unreal, with a position right on the Lake and views of the snow-capped mountains 🏔️ It took around 50 minutes to get to Lake Como from Milan airport with transfers provided by Travelsphere and just you 🚎.

After a quick lunch sponsored by Titan, of delicious pasta and pizza 🍕🍝we headed for our sunset Lake cruise 🚢 Sponsored by the Travel Corporation touring brands the lake cruise was Amazing, providing beautiful views of the mansions, the Mountain and the Lake, there are some gorgeous hotels positioned on it too including the Mandarin Oriental and we even spotted George Clooney‘s house, unfortunately, he wasn’t home ☹️. Sipping Prosecco and watching the sun go down on the lake was a highlight of the day 🥂

We arrived at the Villa Erba, this place is just beautiful and I can see why it’s a host to many weddings, it was lovely to hear from the Lake Como tourist board who are passionate about this beautiful place and I can see why 🤍 Villa Erba is a 19th-century villa situated on the western shore of Lake Como, it was originally a monastery and was owned by the Erba family who had it built to represent their families status and prestige. We finished the evening with a fabulous buffet dinner of risotto, pasta, olives antipasti, veal and of course Tiramisu 🤎

We embarked on a walking and wine tour hosted by the fabulous Newmarket holidays and our tour guides Daniele and Michael. Newmarket Holidays offers an array of award-winning holidays and escorted tours from cruises, Safaris, small group tours, escorted holidays and exclusively solo tours. We headed up to the top of Moltraiso through the cobbled and winding streets, visiting the oldest long-standing path built by Julius Caesar and the Romans. It was a leisurely walk, with some slight strenuous parts due to the steps and the incline, we passed numerous waterfalls and met lots of locals who were happy to chat and the higher we embarked the more breathtaking the views 😍. Daniele and Michael were fabulous guides filling us with facts and stories about the local area. The walk took around 3 hours and we hit around 12,000 steps, so no need to be an experienced walker or hiker. Once returning we had a lovely session experiencing local wine and delicacies of Italy.

We finished the day with pre-dinner drinks on the terrace at the Grande Hotel Imperiale before heading to Osteria Del Beuc for dinner with Riviera Travel.
