Lanzarote Easter Sunshine

Lanzarote Easter Sunshine

On the 3rd of April 2022, we headed to our favourite resort in Lanzarote of Playa Blanca.

For the first time we’d decided to take a flight from Newcastle airport, which is around 30 minutes further from our home in the South Lakes, than Manchester airport is.

The drive to Newcastle was much nicer on A roads and country roads, we were able to park pretty much outside the terminal building and walk across with our luggage, the whole bag drop, check-in and security process took less than 20 minutes from walking through the door at a time when most airports were struggling with large queues through security.

For our stay in Lanzarote, we chose the Palmeras Garden Apartments, in Playa Banca. These are located around a 20-minute walk into Playa Blanca centre/harbour front, easily accessible by taking the sea front promenade path or the local bus which stops at the back of the apartments on the main road, more recently for the brave or young at heart electric scooters are available to hire too, to help you get from A to B.

Having stayed in Playa Blanca several times previously, it was great to be back, we paid extra for a newly refurbished one bedroom apartment.

The complex was like a small Canarian Village with just 45 apartments and bungalows on lovely low-rise two floor levels. The pool area was great, and it was always easy to get a sunbed, despite us being there for school Easter holidays.

During our eight night stay, we visited the Aqualava waterpark for the day, which was about a 10 minute walk from our apartments.

We took a taxi or bus ride into Playa Blanca several evenings, to dine al fresco on the sea front.

Within close proximity of our accommodation, there were several excellent restaurants, a steakhouse and Italian too.

A further 12-15 minutes’ walk away, down the promenade brought us to Playa Flamingo Beach and a handful of restaurants and bars on the front.

We spent some time at the Rubicon Marina, one of the weekly market days and enjoyed a drink whilst people watching

Having been to Lanzarote some four times previously, we had already done a lot of the sightseeing we wanted to do on previous occasions, so this holiday, was all about rest and relaxation and spending quality time together as a family, post pandemic.

We really enjoy the resort of Playa Blanca, in Lanzarote, for some Autumn, Winter, Spring sunshine, it’s a place we are always happy to return to, no doubt we will return again soon
