Climate Information

The Indian Ocean can be considered as an all year around destination, although there are some areas where certain weather conditions have to be regarded. For example, Sri Lanka has two monsoon seasons.

From May until July it’s the south west monsoon and from October until January it’s the north east monsoon.

Apart from its beautiful beaches and fantastic scenery, Sri Lanka is steeped in history. The ancient Buddhist citadel, Sigiriya, is definitely worth a visit. Created in the 5th century, a climb to the top of Sigiriya offers stunning views of the surrounding countryside. On the way you pass beautiful frescoes painted on the rock face. Anuradhapura is easily accessible and is the ancient capital of Sri Lanka and was built 2000 years ago.

Situated 2000 Km off the southeast coast of Africa, Mauritius offers spectacular scenery, fantastic weather and stunning beaches. For sports lovers there’s even a horse racing track in the island’s capital of Port Louis.
