Situated on the northern tip of the island, the spectacular soft white sands of the Corralejo Dunes are a protected nature park and is a must see destination for any visit to Feurtentura. The dunes are about 10km long stretching from Puerto Remedio to La Salina and they are the home for a number of animal life and plant varieties.

Betancuria is the former capital of Feurteventura, and was totally destroyed in 1593 by pirate Jaban. It was eventually rebuilt by the local population and continued to be the islands’ capital until 1834. Today, it’s very popular tourist destination, with a number of souvenir and handicraft shops.
