A perfect family getaway destination with year round sunshine

The Canary island of Lanzarote has an interesting and uniquely different lunar-like landscape formed from a series of volcanic eruptions. It offers great beaches alongside coasts of clear water which lend themselves to superb water sports. There are a multitude of different luxury hotel and villa options so you can be sure you’ll find something to suit for your stay on this wonderful island.

Playa Blanca is home to some of the island’s best beaches making it a perfect resort for families. There are sandy coves and a harbour to explore or, for a lovely day out, you can take a ferry from the marina to Fuerteventura.

Puerto del Carman lies on the south-east side of the island and boasts over 7km of fabulous shoreline just perfect for sun-seekers and watersports lovers. The promenade has plenty of restaurants, bars and clubs for when you tire of beach-life. For a more leisurely pace, head into the charming old town and chill out at one of the traditional Spanish eateries. It’s also easy to reach Rancho Texas Lanzarote Park which has a host of animals to see plus pools and waterslides – fun for all the family!

For a more relaxed pace, Costa Teguise fits the bill with a great choice of beaches, restaurants, bars and quality hotels. It lacks the quantity of nightlife and clubs you find in Puerta del Carmen and Playa Blanca but still has lots of places to spend a very pleasant evening out.

It’s not all beaches and watersports here – there’s a multitude of other activities on offer including mountain biking, hiking, boat trips, golf courses and more. There are also quite a few places to shop until you drop so those seeking a spot of retail therapy won’t be disappointed either.

Leisure & Activities

Timanfaya National Park
The most popular tourist attraction in Lanzarote, Timanfaya National Park is a fantastic sea of volcanic lava rock which has erupted from long dormant volcanoes. You are not allowed to walk through the park on foot, but there are coaches which pick you up at the main car park and take you on a fantastic journey on windy roads with hair pin bends. The coaches make regular stops in order for you to take photographs and to take a closer look at the incredible scenery.

Playa Blanca
Situated in the south of the island, Playa Blanca offers the perfect destination for a quieter, more relaxed holiday. It has an excellent selection of bars, cafes and restaurants as well as beautiful beaches, including Papagayo Beach and Playa Dorada. Night life is a lot more relaxed and more low key than other resorts on the island.

Monte Corona
Monte Corona is a great place to visit if you are a keen hiker. At 605 m, it’s the highest peak on the island and is formed from a long dormant volcano.
