The Cultural Triangle of Sri Lanka

The interest in Sri Lanka is ever increasing. An absolute essential is to experience the UNESCO designated Cultural Triangle, with 6 cultural sites, including Sigiriya Rock Fortress, The Golden Temple of Dambulla and the sacred Cities of Kandy and Anuradhapura. Kandy is the southern tip of the Cultural Triangle and is an UNESCO World Heritage site. Here you must visit the famous Temple of the Tooth Relic. Moving South enter into the Hill Country where you can experience first hand the amazing scenery which is laiden with lush tea plantations. In the centre of this stunning landscape you will find the colonial town of Nuwara Eliya, where you feel like you have stepped into an English country town. A trip to Sri Lanka wouldn't be complete without visiting the elephant orphanage at Pinnawala where a first hand experience of the care for these wonderful animals can be witnessed. Take a jeep safari into the Minneriya National Park or futher South, Yala and see the wonderful nature and wildlife, which Sri Lanka has to offer. The choice of accommodation is wonderful, so for a honeymoon or something a little special, try the Vil Uyana hotel close to Sigiriya and further South in Kandy, the Cinnamon Citadel. For something really unique include a stay at an Estate house or the Ceylon Tea Trails!
