Los Angeles

A fantastic array of entertainment for the whole family

Los Angeles lies on the Pacific coast of southern California and is the home of family entertainment with some of the best theme parks on the planet. At Universal Studios Hollywood for example you can go behind the scenes at the world’s largest working movie studio and theme park, and cast yourself in the action on rides, shows and attractions that bring movie thrills to life.

Where else can you catch a bus tour of the homes of the big Hollywood stars? The hop-on, hop-off tours give you the inside scoop on the homes of your favourite celebrities and you can also take the opportunity to investigate LA at your leisure as well.

The Getty Centre is a most spectacular museum, housing an impressive collection of works for art from renowned artists such as Van Gogh, Monet and Cezanne. The garden tour and maze are also impressive and you’ll be treated to amazing views over the city from the top of the hill.

Head to Mount Hollywood in Griffith Park to see the Griffith Observatory which has a planetarium, public telescopes, cafe and interesting exhibits. It’s a fantastic place from which to view the Hollywood sign and if you stay for the sunset, you’re in for a treat.

The area of Venice is much visited and has one of the most famous beaches in the world. This bohemian town has a series of man-made canals, a boardwalk brimming with shops and street performers, a skate park and the Muscle Beach outdoor gym.

There are plenty of other beaches to visit as well including Will Rogers State Beach where the early Baywatch episodes were filmed, Zuma Beach which is perfect for swimming and surfing and Santa Monica Beach with its iconic pier.
