California experiences warm, dry summers and mild but wet winters. The warmest months are May to October with average temperatures of 25 degrees Celsius. The coolest months, between November and March, temperatures average 16 degrees. These are also the wettest months with an average of 70mm.
Disney Land is the original theme park, and the only one built under the auspices of Walt Disney. Situated in Anaheim, it was opened in July 1955, but changed its name to Disney Land Park when it was expanded with a second park in the 1990’s. Of course, there are all sorts of attractions to suit all ages. The second theme park is known as Disney California Adventure Park.
Yosemite National Park
This stunning National Park is definitely worth a visit for its spectacular scenery. The park covers a staggering 1,200 square miles and features the tallest waterfall in the USA and world’s largest granite monolith. Activities include camping, hiking and why not try your hand at gold panning….you never know your luck!
Situated in Hollywood, Universal Studios is a film studio and theme park. You can go behind the scenes of a real working studio or visit “The Wizarding World of Harry Potter”. These are just two of the major attractions on the site. Other attractions include the Simpson Ride, a special affects show, Super Silly Fun Land and Shrek 4D.
