Renowned for its black lava rock and white sandy beaches, Gran Canaria is a perfect family holiday destination. Playa del Ingles is probably the most popular beach on the island and is situated on the south coast along with Puerto Rico beach. For something a bit quieter try Puerto de Mogan or San Agustin beaches.
Pico de Las Nieves
6,394 feet above sea level, Pico de Las Nieves is the highest point on the island. On a clear day, from the summit, there are magnificent views of the surrounding countryside. You can reach the top by either hiking or by taking the scenic drive up narrow roads, passing through beautiful villages on the way.
Jardin Botanico Canario Viera Y Clavijo
Magnificent botanical gardens opened in 1952. It comprises an area of 27 acres with up to 500 plant species native to the Canary Islands.
