Goa experiences a hot and humid tropical climate all year round. May is the hottest month with an average temperature of 30 degrees Celsius and January the coolest at 25 degrees. Rainfall can be very high between June and August with up to a meter of rain in the month of July spread over virtually every day.
Incredibly beautiful beaches can be discovered all along the Goan coastline. There are party beaches, adventure beaches and, the best of all, beaches which can offer you complete peace and relaxation. Some of the best beaches include Mandrem beach, which is known for its tranquil setting and, if you like water sports and nightlife, Baga beach is the place to head for. Beaches in the south are, generally, less crowded.
If you enjoy natural history, Goa has the wonderful Mollem National Park. Apart from over 200 species of birds, you may also have the chance of spotting a sloth or even a panther.
Situated on Goa’s eastern border, next to Karnataka, the Dudhsagar Waterfalls can be reached by train, Jeep or by hiking and they are well worth a visit. The water falls a mighty 1000 feet into the river below.
