Multi Centre Holiday to Sri Lanka with private car and driver including prearranged local sightseeing.

Hi Simon

Thanks for the card – a lovely touch!

We arrived back safely late on Sunday – no problems at all. The holiday was excellent. In retrospect we might have done one or two things a little differently, but overall it was fabulous.

The Jetwing Vil Uyana in Sigiriya was excellent. As you know we visited Trincomalee for sentimental reasons – more a young person’s place with diving and water sports popular. The Hotel Kandyan Manor in Kandy (a 250 year old house still family run) was a great home-stay experience although the electrics and plumbing were basic, but very clean and friendly family staff. Gal Oya Lodge was superb with interesting local walks with naturalists and many species of birds. Cottage by Jetwing was slightly disappointing beside a busy road – would have been better in the actual hotel. The trip to Horton Plains would have been a hard trek with a very early start so our driver arranged a later departure with a fabulous drive in a more suitable vehicle through the national park along beautiful winding roads to Horton Plains. The Wallawwa in Kotugoda was great – only 45 minutes to Colombo centre and only 20 minutes to the airport – great recommendation before flying home (thank you) – service & food great.
