As part of our honeymoon adventure, we spent three magical nights at OZEN Reserve Bolifushi, and from the moment we arrived, we knew this was something special. Nestled in the South Malé Atoll, this luxurious all-inclusive resort offers that dreamy Maldives experience, powder-soft beaches, turquoise lagoons, and lush tropical greenery, but with a level of service and style that elevates it to another level.

The island is just a 25-minute luxury catamaran ride from Malé International Airport. The journey was smooth, scenic, and completely seamless. While we waited for our transfer, we enjoyed access to the OZEN airport lounge, where we could relax with a refreshing drink and complimentary Wi-Fi (always a bonus when you want to share that “we’ve arrived!” moment!).

Our Villa: Sunrise Earth Villa with Pool

We stayed in a Sunrise Earth Villa with Pool, and waking up to the sunrise each morning is something I’ll never forget. These villas are beautifully designed, spacious, elegant, and surrounded by nature, with direct access to the beach and a huge private pool that wraps around the side in an L-shape (yes, you can actually swim proper lengths!). There’s even a gorgeous outdoor bathtub in the private garden, a dream spot for a relaxing bubble bath under the stars.

Each villa comes with complimentary bicycles, which is such a fun way to explore the island. There’s something surreal and joyful about riding a bike along palm-fringed paths with ocean views on every side. We laughed so much, especially since it had been a while since either of us had ridden a bike!

Whether you’re a couple, honeymooners, or travelling with a small family, the villa design offers both privacy and comfort in a stunning natural setting.

Culinary Highlights – A Real Journey for the Senses

The food at OZEN Bolifushi is out of this world. The island features five à la carte restaurants and two bars, each offering a unique culinary experience. Upon arrival, the resort had already arranged our dinner reservations (a lovely touch!), and we had the chance to dine at:
• ORIGINƎ – an overwater fine dining restaurant that offers a multisensory culinary journey. From the glass floor panels that let you spot marine life beneath you to the expert wine pairings and beautifully crafted tasting menus, this place is truly unforgettable. Easily one of the best dining experiences I’ve ever had.
• Saffron – a sophisticated Indian restaurant delivering rich, authentic flavours through a tasting menu designed to showcase the depth of Indian cuisine. We love Indian food, so this was a real highlight. The set menu format meant we got to try dishes we might not have picked ourselves, and it felt like a gourmet Indian tapas experience. Every detail was thoughtfully explained by our server, and every bite was perfection.
• Vista del Mar – the resort’s main restaurant, offering world cuisine with Spanish flair. It has an à la carte option and a beachfront setup, so you can enjoy stunning views with your meals.

Dining at OZEN Bolifushi is not just about food, it’s an immersive experience. Whether you’re sipping wine over the ocean, enjoying sunset views with your feet in the sand, or exploring flavours from around the world, each meal feels like an event in itself.

Underwater Adventures & House Reef

No trip to the Maldives is complete without exploring the incredible marine life, and Bolifushi really delivers. The island is home to two vibrant house reefs, making snorkelling right off the beach a daily possibility. They even have a small shipwreck located just in front of the dive centre, which adds a little extra magic to your underwater adventures.

Snorkelling gear is complimentary, and the dive team is fantastic, whether you’re a seasoned diver or a complete beginner, there are excursions to suit every level.

We also loved that the resort offers activities, experiences, and excursions without losing its peaceful, luxury feel. Everything is tailored, smooth, and stress-free.

The Vibe

OZEN Reserve Bolifushi blends natural beauty with world-class service and that special Maldivian charm. With just 90 villas and suites, each with a private pool and beach or lagoon access, the island feels both exclusive and relaxed.
