Ozen Reserve Bolifushi, Maldives

Ozen Reserve Bolifushi, Maldives

As part of our honeymoon, we stayed 3 Nights at Ozen Reserve Bolifushi, which is a luxury all-inclusive resort located in the South Male Atoll This island is just a short transfer from Male International Airport, approximately 25 minutes via Luxury Catamaran. A seamless journey from start to finish. While we waited for our transfer we were able to indulge with complimentary Ozen lounge access allowing us to have a refreshing drink & Wi-Fi access which is always a bonus!

This island is a stunning tropical retreat, boasting powdery white beaches, turquoise waters, and lush vegetation. A real Instagrammers paradise! Ozen Bolifushi has 90 villas and suites, some are located on the beach and some are overwater, they all come with private pools and direct beach or lagoon access. The island offers 5 a la carte-style restaurants and 2 bars.

We stayed in the Sunrise Earth Villa with a pool. Waking up to breathtaking sunrises is something I will never forget! These villas are ideal for couples or small families, they are very spacious and beautifully decorated, with a large bathroom area! They even have a private outdoor bathtub, there’s just no better bubble bath than being outdoors in the Maldives! The private pools are huge, these wrap around one side of the villa in an ‘L’ shape. And yes, I can confirm it’s possible to swim lengths! Each Villa comes with complimentary bicycle rental too which is the perfect way to have fun whilst exploring the island! Something so simple but another pinch-me moment, out of all the places in the world you are riding a bike around a tropical paradise island and of course, it’s such a laugh when you haven’t ridden a bike in over 10 years.

The food here is out of this world! From authentic local flavours to international fusion and succulent seafood, each venue offers a culinary journey that does not disappoint. Upon our arrival at the resort they had already taken care of our dinner reservations, allowing us to dine at ORIGINƎ, Saffron and Vista Del Mar - world cuisine with a Spanish flair, this is the main buffet restaurant but with the option of A la carte service and tables set up on the beach. My favourite has to be ORIGINƎ, which is an exclusive, multisensory culinary experience, set over water with the glass floor panels allowing you to enjoy the marine life below whilst dining on the elegantly crafted dishes made from the freshest ingredients to tantalise & indulge your senses, make sure you take advantage of the exquisite wine pairings from their exclusive collection too! Another outstanding experience was Saffron, the Indian Restaurant. The richness of Indian flavours and culinary traditions comes alive here, it is the place to be for authentic Indian cuisine in the Maldives. We both love curry so we were excited to try this one, we had sat and studied the menu deciding what we were going to have, to arrive and be told it was a set tasting menu, which was incredible and such a genius idea, it’s the perfect way to experience things you ordinarily wouldn’t have picked or tried. The choices were plentiful and our server took time to explain what each bowl was and the best order to eat etc. It was like an Indian Tapas and I’m here for it - 10/10 would recommend!

A stay in the Maldives is not complete without exploring the vibrant marine life, at Ozen Bolifushi you have access to complimentary snorkelling equipment! The great thing about Bolifushi Island is that it’s home to two sprawling house reefs! There’s even a small shipwreck located just in front of the dive centre. If you want to be surrounded by breathtaking beauty & create unforgettable memories I can guarantee this is the place you need to be! Ozen Bolifushi
