Atlantis The Palm Hotel & Resort, Dubai

The Atlantis experience combines sumptuous elegance and style with thrilling fun and adventure that you would struggle to find anywhere else in the world.

During a short familiarisation trip to Kuala Lumpur (compliments of Gold Medal Travel Group) our group made a short stopover at The Atlantis in Dubai to experience the facilities of the resort first hand.

Dubai has a tendency to oversize everything and the legendary Atlantis is no exception. Situated on the fringe of the crescent on Dubai’s Palm Island the hotel and resort is 45 minutes from the airport and 25 minutes from the city. The Atlantis is easily recognisable with its Arab style domes and the large towering open arch joining the 2 parts of the building. When you arrive at this famous landmark you are awe struck not only with the outside but with the beautiful giant towering glass sculpture in the huge lobby inside.

With over 1500 well-appointed spacious rooms and suites, most can interconnect if required, so it suits families who flock here. Young couples and ‘young at heart’ are well catered for with plentiful pools to lounge around, an array of boutiques, a large spa and an array of 20 restaurants, bars and lounges. You can dance the night away at the N’Dulge night club or just chill out at the Miami-style beach bar.

Atlantis Marine & Waterpark

The resort has an impressive range of activities including:

  • Marine Habitat with 65,000 marine creatures
  • Dolphin Encounter
  • Aquamarine Waterpark…largest in Dubai with high speed slides and lazy rivers
  • On Site PADI diving Centre

One of the highlights for me was when a small group of us took the ride on the Zoomerango at the Poseidon Tower – the video link below gives you an idea – and this is one of the tamer slides!

The Palm Monorail

The Palm Monorail is a great point to see The Palm Jumeriah and is often used by guests staying at The Atlantis. It takes you from the Atlantis Resort area to the main part of Dubai at the far end of The Palm Islands where it links in with Al Sufouh Road (and will eventually be linked to the Dubai Metro and the new Al Sufouh Tram System).

Everything about The Atlantis was spot on and offers families and couples a marvellous winter break away from our horrendous winter weather we now seem to be having constantly. Please contact me for further details.
