The Breakers, Palm Beach, Florida | Designer Travel

Florida isn’t just about Mickey Mouse! Along the Atlantic Coast, North of Miami, there are some wonderful places to visit.

The Breakers at Palm Beach, is an iconic resort Hotel in Florida. As one of the first true resorts to be opened, Henry Flager, the oil, real estate and railroad tycoon opened it’s doors on 16 January 1896. It’s been rebuilt several times due to 2 major fires, but now stands as an imposing building offering excellent luxury facilities for all the family.

It has an air of opulence about it when you enter the grand reception area, but it is warm and welcoming. The service is second to none, making this a perfect place to relax and absorb yourself in the atmosphere of The Breakers.

Lying along a half mile stretch of beach, overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, The Breakers has something for all the family. It has 5 heated swimming pools, a spa and beauty salon, 36 holes of Championship golf, tennis courts, boutiques and 9 restaurants and 6 bars, including the fairly recently opened HMF bar, named after Henry Morrison Flagler. It is an absolute must, taking you back to the Golden era of Henry Flaglers time, serving original cocktails in hugely decadent surroundings.

Not only is this a fabulous resort just to visit, it is also only around 1hr and 30mins from Orlando. So, with car hire being relatively inexpensive in Florida, why not combine a trip to Disney with a stay at The Breakers for a truely memorable luxury family holiday.
