Princesa Yaiza, Lanzarote
I have just returned back from a lovely family holiday to the Princesa Yaiza in Lanzarote. This hotel is a 5 star luxury family hotel, offering fantastic service and facilities for families.
The rooms on offer are all suites; we stayed in the family suite block as we are a family of 5. The rooms are clean and offer plenty of space. These are also handy for the family pool and the family breakfast area in case you do wake up late you can still eat within a 1 minute walk (the main hotel is about 5 minutes through an underground tunnel which has fish tanks – pretty amazing and kids love it).
The rooms all have a mini kitchenette and there is a supermarket attached to the family suites blocks. The hotel welcomes you to bring food in and use the facilities within your room.
I stayed on Bed and Breakfast and didn’t mind this at all; we all had a brilliant breakfast- whereby you can eat within 4 different buffet restaurants and they always had hot food available until 10.30 which was great for us as we had later nights and later breakfasts.
Most days we spent around the family pool which was heated to a lovely temperature which made a massive difference for me and the 3 kids as they literally stayed in it for hours and hours.
During the day we could eat at the pool bar or take a short stroll into Playa Blanca were we could grab an ice cream and have a trip to the beach.
The beach isn’t owned by the hotel so charges apply for sun loungers and umbrellas but my kids just played and were happy with sitting on the sand.
The main attraction for the Princesa Yaiza is the 10,000 square feet worth of kids club called KIKOLAND. My daughter, who is 5, attended twice and my 8 year old son only once. My eldest, who is almost 11, wasn’t interested but what a brilliant set up – you can bring your kids as and when they liked and stay for however long. They do a cinema every day from 1pm so they can just chill away from the afternoon sun. The activities on offer are endless and it’s so welcoming too.
They have a Soccer Club too for all those football fans plus tennis courts.
The hotel offers à la carte dining and we went to different restaurants twice and, to be honest, it wasn’t too pricey but I found the service to not be as good as the buffet restaurants and the food on offer in the buffet was spectacular, plenty of choice.
We also ate out a few nights in Playa Blanca and there are loads of places to eat within 5-minutes’ walk of the hotel and you’ll find a good choice of dishes and prices.
Of an evening, Princesa Yaiza offers the kids mini disco at 7.30pm till 8.30pm then after this they have a quiz then the main evening entertainment starts at 9.30pm. Families are welcome to stay and watch and they even have staff on hand to dance with the kids and get involved if you have children that don’t like to just sit and watch.
We absolutely loved this hotel and everything about it. If you want a decent 5-star resort that offers first class service and facilities that caters for the families, then go here. The fact that everything is on your doorstep is a huge bonus as well.
The hotel is 5 star FAMILY hotel, so if you are a couple then you may well want another hotel as the chances are you will encounter kids at every corner you turn!
I have managed to secure some great rates, so please get in touch and I’ll be happy to get you a quote
