Florida, and particularly Orlando, is the world’s capital when it comes to theme parks. The choice and options are just overwhelming. Situated at the southern tip of Florida, the Everglades is a 1.5 million acre wetland national park. They consist of coastal mangroves, pine flatwoods and sawgrass marshes. Rare leatherback turtles make their home here as well as Florida panthers, alligators, snakes and many more animal species. There are numerous ways to experience the Everglades, from boat rides to hiking trails and canoe trails to cycle trails.
Kennedy Space Centre
Situated just over an hour away from Orlando, the Kennedy Space Centre is a great day out for the whole family. You can take a bus tour of the complex, try your hand at piloting a space shuttle simulator, and you can even meet an astronaut during a live presentation of an Astronaut Encounter.
