Florida

Meet the characters, shop till you drop or laze on a white sand beach

There is an abundance of things to do, see and enjoy in Florida; there are fun packed theme parks, glorious beaches, year round sunshine and fabulous shopping opportunities. Of course, you can choose simply to stay in Orlando for a holiday to remember but combining resorts gives you the best of both worlds. Head South for the Keys, try windsurfing on Miami’s beaches or hop over on a short flight to Mexico or the Bahamas.

Florida is a great choice of holiday destination for young and old. Attractions include Busch Gardens Tampa Bay where there is a zoo, rides and shows to enjoy, Disney’s Magic Kingdom which is the attraction that Florida is most famous for, Legoland which is great for younger children and Universal’s island’s of Adventure where Harry Potter springs to life and Spiderman embarks on epic adventures.

There are so many attractions it would take too long to list them all but one very popular place, and therefore one you will need to book well in advance, is Discovery Cove where you can swim with the dolphins, discover more about these marvellous creatures and do much, much more.

For somewhere more adult focused, try the Florida Keys which is a perfect escape for couples. Here you’ll find secluded beaches, turquoise waters and coral reefs. By contrast, Miami is best suited for those seeking a more lively environment as it has plenty or shops, bars, restaurants and nightlife plus fabulous beaches too.

The Everglades National Park is a wonderful 1.5 million acre wetland preserve made up of pine flatwoods, sawgrass marshes and coastal mangroves. It is a natural habitat for a wealth of endangered and rare species including the manatee, American crocodile and the elusive Florida panther. Exploring the park with one of the experienced guides is the best way to get the most out of your time here. There are canoe and kayak tours, eco tours, fishing guides, photography tours and more.
