Sri Lanka - NEW luxury all the way

The main airport in Sri Lanka, Colombo has just opened a new business class lounge and Sri Lankan Airlines have also announced a two year cabin refurbishment programme. Add to this a few new luxury hotel openings and Sri Lanka really will be ready to welcome luxury travellers. How to get there Sri Lanka Airlines fly 12 times a week in the busy months and 7 times per week off season. The airline use A330's and A340's which have 18 business class seats and 251 economy seats. If you buy a business class ticket then Sri Lankan Airlines offer a free limousine service from any UK address within 75 miles of the airport. The flight time direct is around 10 hours 30 minutes and it really is easy to use Columbo as a hub too for the Maldibes, India and the Far East. The new luxury openings Two Anantara resorts and a third Avani resort are in the pipeline for Sri Lanka. Its a classic style hotel with 229 rooms. three bars, swimming pool and fitness centre and spa. Its skylounge is getting to be the place to be seen, but beware drinks are on the pricey side.
