While visiting several hotels in North and South Tenerife, my wife and I visited the beautiful island of La Gomera for the day; we were so glad to have made the effort to visit such a lovely island. The island is suitable for those who would like a relaxing holiday, whilst enjoying spectacular scenery with many green terraced valleys. Although the climbing roads have many hairpin bends, they are well made and maintained with more than adequate barriers.
Easy journey to the island.
La Gomera is a smaller island off Tenerife. It takes only 40 minutes to cross by Fred Olsen Catamaran from Los Christianos in the south of Tenerife (not far from airport) to San Sebastian, La Gomera’s town, where Christopher Columbus last stayed before he left for the ‘New World’ in 1492. All transfers and boat journey can be pre-booked.
Excellent walking – National Park – Golf – Tennis – luxurious Jardin Tecina Hotel
The island is an extinct volcano and is thoroughly unspoilt. Many walkers visit to explore the National Park of Garajonay at its centre. The luxurious Jardin Tecina Hotel and golf resort is around 45 minutes from San Sebastian, offering excellent golf, tennis and spa facilities. Most of the restaurants and services are situated in the main building and the rooms are set in beautiful grounds, containing many species of plants and flowers. There is also a Beach Club on the coast level, within walking distance of a small village.
