Introducing a trio of unique properties that will make your jaw drop…
I was first introduced to this unique little collection of properties in Jamaica over 5 years ago and I thought that they were so special that I have never forgotten them. For me, experiencing the culture and beauty of a destination is essential when I travel, and the more I can see of a place the better. These 3 properties all offer completely different experiences in Jamaica in different parts of the island and I think you will love them as much as I do…
This magical and remote 26-acre mountain village is set high in Jamaica’s Blue Mountains. To ensure privacy, each unique cottage is set within lush gardens with the verandas angled to capture their own ravishing views. Your days can be spent relaxing in the infinity pool, taking in the stunning views of Kingston far below and the sparkling blue waters beyond. Your evenings can be spent indulging in the modern Caribbean flavours served in their veranda restaurant, then followed by drinks in their snug, wood-paneled bar.
Over time, Strawberry Hill has become a much loved retreat by not just tourists but locals too. Local music legends, including Bob Marley, would come here to escape their busy lives and take a much needed break in the quietness of the mountains. In more recent times, their Sunday Brunch has become both a treat and a ritual for local families and couples.
You will struggle to find another resort in Jamaica that offers such a deep connection with nature, blissful quietness and stunning views…this really is a one off and unique place to say.
GoldenEye offers a collection of unique accommodation set amongst tropical gardens, private beaches and secluded coves. Like Strawberry Hill, you will be able to immerse yourself in the surrounding nature whilst enjoying the luxurious facilities on offer but this time you will be by the beach.
You will find it hard to choose which type of accommodation to stay in while you are here. The spacious Beach Villas are set amongst native greenery and sit directly on the beach or a lagoon. The Lagoon Cottages offer direct water access for those who want to spend as much time as possible swimming in the lagoon. Finally, the Beach Huts promote indoor-outdoor living for those who want to embrace living by the beach.
GoldenEye has a wide range of activities on offer to keep you entertained, ranging from relaxing on the beach, swimming in the resort lagoon or swimming pools, taking part in some water-sports or indulging in Spa treatments. You also have a choice of restaurants and bars on offer too. With so much on offer, what will you choose to do with your time here?
The Caves is an incredibly romantic 12 cottage property poised on the limestone cliffs of Negril. This luxurious resort offers authentic island charm, character and hard to beat coastal views. The caves below host a number of things including, my personal favourite, a secret rum bar that is reached via a coral staircase and a wooden footbridge. The bar looks incredibly romantic in the candlelight and offers the perfect spot to spend your evenings.
For those of you who like the water, you can go on a snorkelling expedition around and through the natural caves and if you are lucky, you may get a visit from a passing Dolphin! For those who love the beach, Negril’s stunning 7 mile white sand beach is only a few minutes away.
Everything about The Caves is unique, where else can you stay on top of sea caves that hide so many exciting experiences inside?
I hope you enjoyed my little introduction to these incredibly unique and beautiful places to stay today. In my honest opinion it is best to combine two of them during your trip or if you are able to travel for a little longer than average a stay at all 3 would be perfect!
We have waited so long to travel now so a big treat is on the cards for us all, so why not consider a trip here for your next holiday? It’s the kind of destination that will give you the WOW factor and the need to pinch yourself to see if you are dreaming…
