Taking the kids to see Santa in Lapland has to be one of the ultimate family holiday experiences you will ever have. However with so many different options these days from whistle-stop day trips to traditional log cabin holidays, where do you start when planning your once in a lifetime trip?
Finnish Lapland is a magical place to visit with a special festive atmosphere. But you have to be careful that you are booking the package that best suits your family’s wants, needs and budget. Having recently looked for my own holiday and for customers I realised that it is not as straight forward as I had originally thought!
The packages vary hugely so here at just some of the things that you may want to consider –
Would you like to stay in Rovaniemi, Lapland’s cosmopolitan capital, where you’ve got international-name shops and restaurants, as well as an after-dark scene that rivals any European city, or Levi, Pallas and Yllas who are all experts when it comes to snow activities? Then there’s Saariselka, a real winter wonderland, and Luosto, a secluded spot that’s one of the best spots to see the Northern lights.
Then there’s the accommodation choice. Fancy the razzmatazz of a purpose built hotel or would you prefer a more traditional log cabin…. some even include their own sauna!
When it comes to the activities there’s an abundance of choice. From sleigh rides and Husky experiences, cookie making and visiting Santas Village or a Gala dinner with the elves and reindeer to name but a few, there is a lot to think about!!
And we haven’t even started on that very special meeting with the big man himself. Would you like a private family meeting with Santa where your child gets a present chosen specially for them or would you be happy with a quick hello?
Confusing, right? Why not let an expert help you with your decisions? Its not to early to book your Lapland experience for 2018, so if you would like me to help then please get in touch.
