CRUISE UNDER SAIL with Star Clippers
Enjoy the unique experience of cruising under sail
The tall sleek Star Clippers are a recreation of the elegant 19th century clipper ships, offering guests the romance of a tall ship without sacrificing comfort. There is extensive deck space for sunbathing, plunge pools, intimate piano lounge, relaxed open seating dining.
An informal cruise with all the comforts you require – climb to the Crow’s Nest if you wish!
Star Clippers often call at ports out of reach to larger ships and guests are welcome to take part in ship duties such as hauling the ropes, or climbing to the Crow’s Nest. It is a relaxing, informal type of cruise, offering a sense of adventure but still providing everything a guest might need.
A number of different water-related activities are complimentary on board, such as Kayaking, Wind surfing, snorkeling and swimming.
The fleet includes the Royal Clipper, the largest, and only, five masted ship since 1902. Most cabins are outside and the clipper has the feel of a modern yacht. Destinations include the Caribbean including Cuba, Panama Canal, Asia, and several Mediterranean destinations.
The Star Clipper and Star Flyer are both 3025 tons carrying 170 guests and 72 crew. The Royal Clipper is 5000 tons carrying 225 guests and 106 crew.
A new ship, The Flying Clipper, is due to join the fleet in 2018 and is set to become the largest sailing ship in the world with five masts and rigging made up of square sails.
