Antigua is one of the most beautiful Caribbean Islands and has such a friendly, laid back feel. The beaches are white with lovely fine sand.  The sea is the most amazing turquoise – truly stunning!

I went to Antigua with my Daughter a few years ago and had such a fun time.  We stayed at the Jolly Harbour Beach Hotel and whilst we were there we had a look at a number of hotels including the Sandals resorts.

We flew British Airways from Gatwick and the flight time was approximately 8 hours and the service was really good. Virgin are another good airline to use for this route too.

When we were there, we spent much of the time relaxing on the beach and enjoying the various cocktails on offer!  When we went to look at some of the other hotels, we decided to use the local bus service which was a great cultural experience sitting should to shoulder with the locals who were such cheerful souls – certainly an experience not to be missed. Another experience that we enjoyed was the catamaran evening cruise drinking the local rum and dancing to Bob Marley with the sun going down – Antigua has wonderful sunsets!

The best time to visit Antigua is during our Winter months and when planning a trip it works very well to multi-centre this destination and experience another Caribbean Island.

I am lucky enough to have been to many more of the Caribbean Islands.  If you are reading my Blog and you would like to contact me, I am sure I will give you loads of inspiration to choose a great Caribbean experience !
