Vibrant New York

Vibrant New York

NEW YORK:- love it or hate it..................As for me I love it!!!! If it's your first time in New York then my recommendation would be that you adopt the 'I am a tourist through and through" approach. There is so much to see and do that there is never quite enough time, There are some obvious places to head to. Check out the statue of Liberty (you can climb to the very top if you are up for the challenge). You can also take a helicopter ride over the Hudson, which will give you great views of some of the most iconic buildings and structures famous world over. Remember that epic scene in 'Sleepless in Seattle' at the top of the Empire State Building? New York really is the 'Big Apple' and that epic line in the song 'so good they named it twice' is as true today as it was then.......Once you have finished the sight seeing must do's - Time Square, Central Park, The Plaza, Ground Zero, Grand Central Station (a personal favourite offering you a glimpse into New York's colourful past - amazing architecture), Ellis Island museum, St Patrick's Catherdral and the New York Public Library.....................then what about a spot of shopping? The shopping in New York is amazing - check out the shops on fifth Avenue, Tiffany's (full of every girls dream jewellery items and an amazing place just to walk around, check out the great lifts - choose from one of their fine diamond rings, just perfect for an engagement celebration). If you fancy something a little more contemporary then why not take the subway to Greenwich Village, Tribeca. If you are looking for boutique shops or something a little bit quirky you have come to the right place........New York has it all. An out of town shopping experience at an outlet mall may just be the tonic you need to recover from all that sightseeing! Eating in New York is a major part of the NY experience. Visit a local deli, book a table at a top restaurant offering gourmet food or delight in the smells and sounds of China Town. You will find every type of restaurant possible, often within walking distance of your hotel. The Irish bars and pubs are worth a visit - particularly close to St Patrick's Day. If it's nightlife you are after you will spoiled for choice with too many possibilities to mention. The theatres city are spacious and most are air conditioned. Current Broadway shows include: Spiderman (a must for those with children in their party - or big kids at heart), Kinky Boots, Jersey Boys (brilliant in London and Las Vegas, even better in New York??), Annie, After Midnight, Les Miserables, Mamma Mia, Matilda, Book of Mormons and the list goes on. We can often book theatre tickets for you before you travel. All in all New York is a city that needs to be on your 'bucket list'. It's a place that draws you back time after time - it has a charm that is hard to find anywhere else in the States. I guess you can tell from all that that I am a raving fan. "New York, New York, I love it".
